Housing Market Update 25/05/2017
This week I’ll take a u-turn from real estate a little bit and tell you about two pretty worthwhile causes our office has been involved in.
The first is the Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
We held our morning tea event today at our Hurlstone Park office and raised over $4,500 with our office matching it dollar for dollar. That’s a combined result of over $9,000 which couldn’t go to a more worthy cause. I can’t think of a bigger issue in the community that affects all of us either directly or to a loved one. A big thank you to all who attended and gave so generously and our wonderful team for organising the event and baking all the delicious treats.
The second is this weekend’s Red Shield Appeal for the Salvation Army.
I have been running the Marrickville Zone for over fifteen years now (wow I felt quite old typing that!) and it has grown and grown to the point where we have over 300 high school students and 70 parent drivers collect throughout the local area on a Sunday morning. I then join with my colleagues from the local Rotary Club of Marrickville to feed them all with the biggest barbecue you have ever seen. It’s a fantastic day and I have seen first hand the amazing work done by the Salvos in the community with people at their lowest ebb. So if you live in the Inner West (or anywhere in Sydney for that matter) and hear that early Sunday morning knock on the door please give whatever you can, it really is much appreciated.
