R & W Marrickville/Hurlstone Park Market Update 09.11.2019
The Auction results are in for October:
October was a bit of a flood or famine month for sales volumes depending on where you look.
Let’s start with Marrickville which had a whopping twenty-seven properties go to Auction and an extremely impressive clearance rate of 88.89%. That’s a really strong performance on both the quantity and quality metrics. For that many homes to trade in a month containing only four Saturdays is well above average. It looks like owners in postcode 2204 finally liked the water temperature and took the plunge. It just further confirms how high in the pecking order Marrickville has risen when it comes to buyer choice and popularity.
In stark contrast the very low stock levels of both Dulwich Hill and Hurlstone Park were clearly evident in their respective Auction results.
Dulwich Hill held just six Auctions for a clearance rate of 60% and Hurlstone Park only two for a 100% success rate. Hardly numbers to write home about in the middle of what’s traditionally and seasonally the busiest selling period of the year. November is looking a bit better for these two sleepy Inner West enclaves so let’s hope things improve markedly.
