R&W Opens New Surry Hills/Redfern Office
Leading real estate group Richardson & Wrench today announced the opening of a new office in the inner city Sydney suburb of Surry Hills.
R&W Executive Director Andrew Cocks said the opening of the Surry Hills office, which will also service the suburb of Redfern, was an important step in the company’s strategic growth plan.
“The inner suburbs of Sydney are extremely strong real estate performers benefiting from the growing demand for homes close to work and entertainment precincts,” said Mr Cocks.
“This is our second significant new office opening in the inner-city, following the establishment of R&W Pyrmont/Glebe late last year. We have a very clear growth plan in which we intend to open new offices in areas that offer scope for good operators to grow profitable businesses.”
Heading the R&W Surry Hills/Redfern sales team will be established real estate operators Daniel Gunning and Tom Speakman, backed by a team of experienced Property Managers.
“The principals of R&W Surry Hills are already area specialists having each spent more than 10 years operating in the local area,” said Mr Cocks. “They have witnessed the transformation of Surry Hills over the past decade and have strong local community connections and will be a great addition to the outstanding Richardson & Wrench offices that operate in the surrounding areas.”
Daniel Gunning said the decision to establish a residential real estate business had been considered for several years and the opportunity to join the Richardson & Wrench network had presented the best option to establish themselves in a new sector.
“We are not newcomers to real estate however we believe that in residential real estate there are significant benefits in being part of an established and well-respected brand such as Richardson & Wrench,” said Mr Gunning. “This area is very active in residential property at the moment and we wanted to be a part of it.
“It is an exciting opportunity for us to leverage our own knowledge and contacts in this locality and enjoy the benefits of being part of a broader network.”
Mr Speakman said that over many years operating in the Surry Hills area, he and Mr Gunning had played a role in the area’s renaissance and transformation into a highly desirable place to live.
“We see a lot of scope to push the boundaries further in terms of creativity in marketing and presentation,” said Mr Speakman. “The business of real estate is coming full circle to a full service model that existed a generation or two ago.
“It’s part of the ‘one stop shop’ operation that we will be offering and which we believe will become more common in future.”
