We have collated the Auction results for the second quarter of the year and they are as follows:

It's abundantly clear the heady days of 2016-17 where 80% plus clearance rates were the norm are most certainly over.

Having said that

It's very encouraging how both Dulwich Hill and Marrickville seem to be consistently tracking around the 65% mark. That equates to basically two out of every three Auctions successfully selling each weekend which is an excellent strike rate in this market.

As the weekly Auction clearance rate of greater Sydney now regularly lands in the 50-55% range it illustrates how strong our area remains in comparison to others. And always remember our figures cover and accurately report on EACH AND EVERY Auction. The weekend figures are never fully adjusted with a significant number (sometimes as large as 25-30%) unreported. I can speak from personal experience that the majority of those Auctions would be unsuccessful. Agents love to brag!

Hurlstone Park

On the other hand, is currently letting the side down at only 40%. I wrote on the reasons why I think this is happening but will go into more detail in future updates.

Next week I will have the half-yearly results for all three suburbs and most interestingly how they compare to the same period in 2017. There’ll be plenty of surprises so keep a lookout for that.
